Speaker Background
Pastor Jesse Sng started in computing 30 yrs ago as a teenaged computer hacker with 12 yrs in software Research & Development and as an entrepreneur before surrendering to full-time pastoral ministry in 2001.
As a national serviceman, he was involved in the use & creation of computer based combat simulations software.
As a student & undergrad, he was one of the first modem users in Singapore (1984) & was online when NUS has its first internet connection (1986), he was involved also in computer generated music, the first digitally created university newspaper and in the creation of online communities there.
As a professional, he worked in research labs & companies as a digital multimedia technology pioneer during the early 90s. In the late 90s he helped lead a dotcom company’s internet marketing group to grow from 300 users to 12 million in 15 months worldwide.
He has served in the past 9 yrs as webmaster for Christian ministry websites and is currently the president of CMUG (Christian Mac User’s Group) which promotes the use of technology in ministry.
He is married to his wife Janice for 18 yrs. Both of them met online on the university mainframe computer in 1987. They currently have 4 young children.
