"Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye."
- Mark 7:13
Jesus rebuked the religious crowd, and this time, it was about their vain worship. These men of false faith would rather follow the traditions of men, and worldly self-made commandments to purify themselves, rather than to be convicted by scripture, repent of their sin and get right with God.
Their behavior was not only wrong - it did something that should send shivers down our spine - it made the Word of God - the truth eternal, the saving gospel - useless.

And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
- Numbers 17:8
As commanded by God to prove his leadership over the people of Israel, Moses told all the princes from the individual tribes to take a rod, mark them with their own names, and see which one buds with flowers. It would be a conclusive sign of who the Lord chooses.
And God chose Aaron.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house."

Jesus was in his home town, and was widely and quickly recognized by all the people, who had seen him grow up. Now there he was, teaching with perfect wisdom, and performing miracles of great wonder.
All they could think was, "hey, wasn't this guy my neighbour?"

"... and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again... "

Miriam showed no mercy when she confronted Moses. Sin had entered deep into her heart. And now, filled with jealousy, false righteousness and anger, she went to her brother Moses and accused him to the face.
God would not allow His anointed to be falsely accused, and struck her with the dreaded disease, leprosy.

"Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee."

Jesus cast out a whole legion of demons from the man, freeing him from the thousands of evil spirits. The man was now free, overjoyed, and begged Jesus to let him follow him.
But Jesus had other plans.

"And the LORD said unto Moses, They shall offer their offering, each prince on his day, for the dedicating of the altar."
- Numbers 7:11
The chapter opens with the Tabernacle fully finished and fully furnished, all ready to accept the worship and sacrifices of the Children of Israel. Day by day, a different prince representing his tribe would approach with his long train of offerings of gold, silver, wheat and livestock.
And what a sight it must have been!

"... Satan cometh immediately..."

The Lord Jesus was giving a parable of the sower. He spoke of the sower, who sowed the Word of God, passing and teaching it to men. The Word, ever powerful, reached into their hearts, and revealed God's grace and mercy to them.
But they would not listen, and Satan immediately took what little they had away.

With the Tabernacle finished, the Lord began to clearly delegate the duties of the men of Israel. The Levites took the role of the firstborn, and performed the various duties that the Lord had commanded Moses.
Each duty was special and set apart to each person; all working to the glory of the Almighty God

"And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him."
- Mark 3:8
The Book of Mark depicts the Lord Jesus Christ as a Servant-Leader. It shows Jesus ministering and serving the people, preaching, healing, teaching, casting out devils; in short, He was busy doing His Father's work.
And what a crowd He drew!

"But if ye will not hearken unto me..."
- Leviticus 26:14
In the closing chapters of this book, the Lord was giving Moses the conclusion to the entire matter. "Keep My commandments," says the Lord, "and do them." And God began to reveal the wonderful blessings He has for His people!
"But if ye will not keep or do them," He adds, "I will punish you seven times more."
